Heel Pain Treatment: APC

In our office, we always seek to use the most conservative, non-invasive treatments to relieve your pain. That means, that we try to relieve your pain without surgery. We are constantly exploring new options for pain treatment. We are now doing APC injections to treat heel pain. Here's a little bit about this treatment:

Autologous Platelet or (APC) Injections are a new therapy being offered by our office for the relief of pain caused by Plantar Fasciitis. The injections are a concentration of the patient's own platelets focused on the heel area to speed the body's repair of this area. This treatment is used as an alternative to steroid injections, and follows initial conservative treatments for Plantar Fasciitis Recently, two of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ biggest stars, Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu, used APC injections for injury treatment before winning the Super Bowl. Again, this procedure is done in our office under a local anesthetic.

When you visit our office we will listen, understand any concerns, and follow up with treatment that is fitting for you, that is why we're always looking into new treatment options!
